Is naming him Parker a bad thing?
I (Caucasian) am a single mom by choice. So I conceived my baby through use of a sperm bank and artificial insemination.
My daughters donor (Caucasian) was no longer donating. So I read through dozens of other donors at the bank and felt connected to one. He is Asian.
So baby boy will be half Caucasian and half Asian with a Caucasian mom and sister.
When I shared his name - PARKER - with a friend of mine who is African American and Asian she laughed and said Parker is not a name for a half Asian child.
I didn’t think names had only applied to certain ethnicities. And I feel Parker is a great name and the only name out of thousands that I like for him.
But my friend says it’s too white…
Am I being blind about something as a Caucasian?
