When did your milk come in?

As a first time mom, what day did you get your milk? We just left the hospital and obviously I only have colostrum so far but we are using donor milk to supplement in the mean time because baby’s blood sugar was a little low!

I guess I'm rare. My milk came in after a little less than 24 hours. FULL FORCE. I think for both my babies I had an oversupply. My babies couldn't keep up with them so I had a lovely milk stash in the beginning.

Are you still nursing regularly with the colostrum and then supplementing? Consistent nursing at first hunger cues is what helps bring in and establish milk supply (usually 3-5 days after birth).

Day 5 for both my babies. I did not supplement during that time. Colostrum was enough, and then when my milk came in, it was more than enough

I believe mine came in on day 4 and it came in full throttle lol. I had to supplement with formula for a day because my guy lost too much weight but once it came in he bulked up fast and I didn’t have to supplement any further than that.

3-5days average is when milk comes in. Giving a bottle of donor milk is only delaying it further. You need to latch latch latch, and ditch the supplementing.
