TW: When did you tell your family and everyone else ?

We told everyone right away with our first (sadly ended in a miscarriage) so after that we waited until after the first ultrasound. If you need the support either way then go ahead and tell people if you are ready.

We told our closest family and friends almost straight away. Even my midwife said that there’s nothing wrong with sharing the news early with those close to you - if something happens most people would want support and not to feel like they have to explain what they’re going through if someone asks why you’re upset.I’m not big on announcements though so can’t help you with that. We just told people flat out or sent a snap of the test or something😅

We’ve told both of our immediate families already and I’m 5 weeks 1 day today. I’m trying to think of a fun way to tell our closest friends - I’m going to try and wait until after our first ultrasound per my husbands request (as we didn’t wait last time and did have a miscarriage). If my husband didn’t mind I would just tell everyone now. I think once I’m closer to 20 weeks we will announce on social media and I’m thinking of doing a onesie that says “little valentine” or something like that since the baby should be here before valentines! I also need to think of how not to tell all our friends quite yet, we are hosting a big party in a few weeks and there will be drinks and I’m sure I’ll get asked why I’m not drinking! I can’t use the designated driver excuse either because the party is at my house 😅
