Would you feel comfortable with going to work for your next shift if somebody who is positive for Covid will be present?

I have a co worker who tested positive for Covid a week ago and has since updated everybody with his results on Friday, he’s still positive but was told by upper management to return to work after 5 days & it doesn’t matter the results. 
I am 35 weeks pregnant and work closely with him for 6-8 hours a day …

Nope, not going if they’re allowing him to return. 🤷🏼‍♀️ It would be different if I wasn’t pregnant but I’m not risking getting Covid and either delivering early alone because I’m sick, or having complications due to Covid.

You can still test positive for Covid after no longer being contagious. Read the cdc website. If his symptoms are improving and he’s fever free for 24 hours, then he can return to work since it’s already been longer than the 5 day quarantine timeline. Wear a mask and stay away from him. Healthcare workers have been returning to hospitals after only 5 days for months now.

Earlier this year my niece had to labour alone for 24+ hours in full PPE because she tested covid positive. She then wasn't allowed skin to skin time with her daughter and was taken straight for an X-ray where they determined she had mild pneumonia. It was over a day before she was allowed to see her daughter and she had to continue in full PPE with no visitors until she was out of the hospital. They are both totally healthy but it was a traumatic birth experience.
She gave birth a couple of months before me. That kind of thing did not align with my birth plan at all - I made every effort to ensure my husband and I didn't get exposed in the final month of my pregnancy.

I’m a healthcare worker that works closely with patients, and during the timeframe they changed to the “can return to work after 5 days with a mask on” rule, I had several coworkers test positive for COVID in a short period of time. I was around 5 months pregnant at the time, and I work in the same room with those coworkers for my whole shift. I wore an N95 mask my entire shift, and tried to keep my distance as much as possible while they were there. After they left for the day each day I would go around sanitizing every surface even more than what we already were. 
I didn’t have a choice to not go to work because we were already critically understaffed, but if I could have made that choice to stay home where I could ensure myself and my unborn (at the time) daughter were safe and healthy I would have. 
In the end you have to make the best choice for you and your baby, so if you are able to stay home, I would.

No way. When I tested positive for Covid back in October I was told to quarantine for 14 days by management. 
I would not risk it, especially being pregnant. Your health and your baby’s health is what matters.

If it was a week ago he tested positive according to the CDC, you only have to isolate for 5 days now. Technically he is cleared to come back to work and I've heard you can show a positive for up to 90 days after infection. 
I honestly wouldn't care but I've had my vaccines and I've had it like 3 times now because I work retail, so it doesn't bug me anymore. 
If you are truly concerned, just wear a mask and wash your hands often.

My brother was positive for Covid for like 6 weeks. My friend and her family had it in October and doctors wouldn’t test them in December when they were sick again because they said Covid could still show. The rule is now 5 days quarantine and then a mask for another 5. They aren’t doing anything wrong in returning to work after a week even if the test is positive.

i was literally only 10 weeks pregnant and the whole staff got covid and didn’t inform us until we were all at work together and i told them i didn’t feel comfortable working with them and was allowed to leave and they fired me like 3 days later 🤠
