Convalidation

Allison

Hello all, so I got married 2 years ago to my husband who is Roman Catholic, I was baptized and raised Protestant. Now I am in the process of going through RCIA classes and trying to convert. The priest has made us aware that before I can receive my sacraments at Easter mass I must have my marriage Convalidated. From the research I have done a convalidation ceremony IS your actual wedding in the eyes of the church. I would like to wear a modest simple long white bridal dress from David’s bridal. But everything I see online is telling me it’s wrong to wear that, because I already had a wedding. Is that really THAT wrong??! I guess the way I see it this is my wedding in the church, it’s a sacrament and a big thing to celebrate. Introducing God into my marriage.
