Do I deserve to be paid this much?

For reference I work at Starbucks as a shift supervisor; come august 1st our baristas are going to be making $15 per hour starting and shift supervisors will be making $19.05 per hour.

Ok now the story pertaining to my question: my friend and I were discussing work and pay, mainly because I used to work at the vet clinic she works at and she likes to keep me in the loop of things, she’s been down a bit because even after a year her pay hasn’t gone up (it was $13 per hour when I left there and like $13.50 per hour when she started working 3 months after I left, it’s a veterinary technician position btw). She ended up asking how much I make and I told her along with mentioning the pay raise coming as well; she literally lost her temper ranting and raving about how none of us deserve that type of pay when important jobs like hers are paid so little. I pointed out to her I left the field to join Starbucks because the pay and benefits just wasn’t worth the work load and I warned her about it before she set her sights on this area for a job in vet care; she ended up calling me an asshole and leaving.
