Hook effect, is it real? Have you tested it?

I am absolutely freaking out. I was taking 3 test a week, until 6 weeks then i stopped. I haven't had many symptoms this week so i just took another and the line is soo much lighter! :((( i go to the dr. Wednesday. Another group mentioned the hook effect happening between 6-8 weeks. Im testing again in a bit with diluted urine once i can tinkle again. Lighter test was today, darker was on 12/4

Why are you still testing? You already know you're pregnant. A home test will not tell you if you miscarried. A doctor will. Instead of freaking yourself out, go make an appointment. It's also normal for symptoms to come and go, so just relax.

I tested it at 7 week+4 and it was faint. So I diluted the urine and it was dark again. Lots of threads on the Internet say it's soooo rare but I don't think it really is. I've seen lots of people who tested it with the same result.
I'm now 12 weeks and baby is doing great. Step away from the sticks!! Haha

Mine did this at 7 weeks and I freaked out. Luckily we had an ultrasound already scheduled for that afternoon. Baby was measuring right on track and had a heartbeat of 133. 😊

How far along are you? I heard after a certain point the HCG levels actually become so elevated the tests will read negative. As long as you aren't cramping or spotting I wouldn't worry! Good luck :)
