Hi I’m 13 weeks pregnant tomorrow and I have a large complex cyst in my ovary about 7-8cm. They want to take it out when I’m around 18 weeks because there’s a possibly a risk of the cyst twisting causing a Torsion. I’m so afraid of surgery while pregnant, I hate that this is even happening. She said she wants to take my whole ovary and tube with it. I’m so fearful of something happening to my baby during surgery. My little baby is thriving right now and I can’t imagine something like this harming him/her in anyway. I don’t know what to do. I don’t know what decision to make. If I opt out of having surgery the doctor said they can keep it under surveillance and monitor it with more frequent ultrasounds. I only have a few weeks to really deceive if I’m going to go through with the surgery at 18 weeks. What would you guys do ? What you have the surgery at 18 weeks or would you try to wait until after delivery and have them monitor the cyst ? I’m so conflicted and I need help and maybe even stories of other mommy’s who went through this and what the outcomes were. Thank you.
