Can’t say no, what do I do?

An old friend asked me out to eat and asked me to pick her up and she lives far away. I said yes (like an idiot) the restaurant is near but I really don’t wanna pick her up because she’s 40 mins away and it’s hot where I live and extremely sunny so even with car air conditioner I don’t like going out directly in the sun. Should I just apologize?

Is she 40 mins away from the restaurant? Honestly, I would say no. She invited you, meaning she would have a way to get there. I would not drive 40 mins to pick someone up only to drive to the restaurant and then drive another 40 mins to drop her off.

Odd of her to put that all on you. I would cancel all together. And in the future meet somewhere half way and it’s on her to figure out how to get places either that Uber/Lyft or public transportation

If it’s not convenient then for sure I would apologize. Technically either she should drive to you since she asked you out or meet half way.
