Confused on my relationship

So me and my ex of five years started talking again I have a baby now he’s 8 months wren been talking for 4months he’s scared of commitment Bcz he said Me having a child isn’t somthing to take lightly which i agree he said once he gets his own place he’ll feel better about it which he moves into his place on 4 of July but I still don’t feel like he’ll commit he takes me and my son out all the time and invites me to family parties and etc so I don’t understand if he isn’t feeling weird about brining me and my son around his family why won’t he commit of course he’s family has know me for baby years over 5 years but idk I’m confused and scared
