Floor bed?!

I am looking for some insight/advice on Montessori sleep/floor beds (correct me if that’s the wrong term, as I am new to the concept).

My son is almost 14 months old and will only sleep on the living room floor. He lays his blanket down, and puts himself to sleep when he’s ready for bed/naps. He’s been doing this for a few months now, and I guess I just feel bad that he is on the floor (even though that’s where he wants to sleep) so I am looking into the option of a floor bed. I would love to hear everyone’s thoughts and pros/cons ☺️
