How Many Ultrasounds?

I can’t remember but how many do we get? I called to verify my appt time today (16 wks) and they mentioned that it’s just a routine check. How do they know everything is okay? My next appt would be 7/22 (I’ll be 20 wks by then) I just wanna see the little one 😭🥺

Usually just 2 the first one is a dating scan 8-12 weeks and second is anatomy scan at 20 weeks. Unless you are high risk than you’ll get more

Most people only get 2 for the pregnancy- viability around 7-8 weeks (some people a bit later) and then around 20 weeks for anatomy scan. 
They make sure baby is okay based on your symptoms, baby’s movement, fetal Doppler, fundal height, your blood pressure, your weight, and some labs/swabs done throughout pregnancy

They just use a Doppler to listen to the heartbeat at routine prenatal appointments. They’ll also weigh you, take your blood pressure and after 20w they’ll start measuring your fundal height.

With my first I only got two like everyone else is saying. One around 8-10 weeks then anatomy scan around 20. With my second and third I had tons more due to being high risk.

I feel it’s different for every office but mostly just the dating and confirming scan and then the 20 week scan. I go in for my 5th scan Friday . The first time we didn’t see a fetal pole or heartbeat so had to recheck , then they did one at 11 weeks , I got my anatomy scan , and then the dr did a quick on last visit because the machine was there and she didn’t have a doppler . So I guess Friday would make my 6th and it’s a recheck from the anatomy scan and I’ll be 27+6. I feel my office does them more then usual because my last pregnancy I had 4 done with them, I got a private one at 14 weeks , and then had 2 more at the high risk dr for her growth concerns .

I got a off the record ultrasound at 12 weeks to make sure baby was I’m the correct spot and that was viable. I’ll get another one around 20 weeks then another towards the end
