Is having your preteen/teenager watch you give birth to their sibling inappropriate?

I was 14 (now 26) when my only sibling was born, and I was in the delivery room the whole time 🤷‍♀️ my family is really close and it was awesome, I’m glad I did it. I would not have been forced to if I didn’t want to be there though.

I wouldn’t call it inappropriate, but I know my kid wouldn’t want to lol. Depends how close you are and what they can stomach.

I don’t think any natural bodily function is inappropriate, least if all something like childbirth. But I don’t know that *I* would want an additional audience for it. It’s definitely not something I would push for and I can’t imagine it’s something lost teenagers would actually want.

When I gave birth to my son I had my sister in the room then just barely turning 15 and me 17; My mom and my then bf now husband. My sister is my best friend so it was appropriate for us and she was there with me the whole time even when my mom went back and forth to the house.

No. It might be weird for a teenage son to watch but not a teenage daughter. She needs to know what to expect in the future lol. It might also be good birth control lol…. And the only reason why I say it’s weird for a teenage son is because he’ll be seeing your lady parts.

I guess it depends on how much they want to see and experience and how comfortable they would be. My 9 year old son wasn’t allowed to come to the hospital when I was having our daughter for Covid regulations, but he never asked any questions about it. I would talk to them about the experience and see how they feel and what they would like. You don’t want them passing out while your giving birth.

I don’t think it’s inappropriate if your child requests to be there. I do think it’s inappropriate if you don’t give your child a choice in the matter.

I voted inappropriate only because I feel like a child shouldn't have to see that. I imagine it would be gross and disturbing for them. But some one mentioned it would be a good birth control experience lol so maybe. Definitely would research and put more thought

I think it is. There’s no reason a kid should be watching a baby be born.
