Check on neighbor ?

My next door neighbors apartment front door has been cracked since yesterday around 4pm and it’s still cracked open, they had a 3 day notice on their door a week ago and I’m not sure if they just up and left or if somethings wrong , they still have their welcome matt at the door but I can’t see inside the patio to seee if they just moved out since were second floor …. 
What do I do? Anything ? 
I don’t wanna call police to check and it be an empty apartment but what if something is wrong ?

Can you call the landlord or property manager to check the apartment? That would be my first step. If its empty they will want to lock it up to prevent squatters moving in.

Id call someone. This was the case with a neighbor of mine a few years ago; someone had booted their door in and burgled them while they were away for work as it turned out.

Non emergency line and call for wellness check. Better safe than sorry - I wouldn’t check myself as this world is too crazy nowadays and anything can happen

Just call the police for a welfare check. It's not on you to determine whether or not it is "warranted." Best case scenario, everything is fine.
