Saturday a knot formed on the side of my chin. By sunday night it was very painful and swollen. It is the size of a quarter and is rock solid. Yesterday I seen a nurse practitioner but she didn't even spend time inspecting it. She walked in and was like hey, i'm prescribing an antibiotic. No looking at it or touching it. Nothing. Well I have used warm compresses, cleaned it frequently, a natural drawing salve and have taken that medicine for a whole day now. Now it is really worse. It has been about the same color as my skin but today it is very red and the head of it feels very blistery and my lip is even swollen, can't talk or chewl very well. 

Do you think it is time to go to the ER? 

Also- I work in healthcare, taking care of mentally disabled elderly people. So I'm nervous about it being an infection.

Emergency Room or do you have any ideas or suggestions??
