Baby not meeting milestones?

Question

What do you do when your baby isn’t meeting certain milestones. He’s 12 months and he doesn’t wave, clap, or any of that. He says mama but idk if correctly. He does sometimes turn when we call his name. I’m nervous about autism. He’s my first baby. It’s been putting me real down lately because I worry about him. He’s crawling and trying to walk so I’m not worried about that. He plays independently a lot. I’m just not sure.

It kinda depends on how much money you are willing spend.
For example in the US speech therapy can be started at age 18mo because you pay for it. In my home country where there is universal healthcare for children is free, speech therapy doesn't start until age 4.
Look around you. Almost all adults can talk, crawl, clap their hands and stack three blocks. Does it really matter if it was achieved at 12 months or 18 months? I think not

I would have him evaluated by early intervention asap. My co-worker did it around that time, but her son didn’t qualify. Then she did it again and he qualified around 18 months.

Wait and see is a horrible answer scary to see it so many times above and the comments...
There's a great book called "fit baby smart baby your baby" by Glenn Doman, that can help you figure out where your kid is and what activities can help them reach the next milestone and stimulate their brain. My baby came out blue with completely misaligned skull and through the activities there leave managed overcome a lot of serious signs of developmentally and now he's super advanced at 12 months. 
Gymboree music and play has a member of books that have activities to stimulate kids if you want a more pure play based approach almost all approaches are clay based at this age 🤷 if you can get your son to look at your mouth when you talk that should also help with speech development there's a speech therapist on YouTube called talk to me she goes through a lot of how to do speech therapy at home in really good detail it cleared up our toddlers pronunciation amazingly. There's a point right now and your kids brain where it's able to grow and adapt very fast you might be able to catch up later but it's not the same as catching up now. 
They might all function as adults that doesn't mean they're all capable of being high functioning if they want to be

Talk to his pediatrician.
My daughter is 11m and doesn’t say mama or dada. She may have said mama when crying a handful of times a few months ago but it may have just been that cry. She waves but has never clapped. She does snap (no sound just the finger motion) which is super cute! She is not behind at all and there is 0 concern. 
I don’t think you have anything to be concern about at the moment. But I’m not a doctor so see what your pediatrician says.

My daughter didn’t wave or clap hands until she was closer to 14 months. She is out going but also stubborn. My daughter is 19 months now and will wave at me, clap hands, high five, and interact with kid songs. 
Every child is different some develop differently than others. I would give it time. You are doing nothing wrong with your baby. Keep working on it with your baby, they will get it down when they are ready. 
If you are still concerned it always helps to talk to their pediatrician.
