Period after C-section

Every since my c-section my period has been so weird. I exclusively breastfed my son until about 8 months. After 2MONTHS PP my period came back while breastfeeding. And ever since it is so unpredictable. My doctor kept changing around me birth control because of it. I was basically having 2 periods a months. My son is now 18 months and I’m still having these issues. I have been off of my birth control for about 2 months now because my hubby and I want to try again soon for baby #2. I’m still bleeding in between my cycles and worried this may make it harder to conceive again? Any one else have this problem? I’ve tried to talk to my doctor and get a second opinion but haven’t gotten anywhere:/
