Watery mucusy eyes

My baby is 11days old and for the past two days he has been having watery mucusy eyes. It has even gotten to the point where he couldn’t open his eyes. Has anyone else dealt with this? If so what did you do in the meantime before seeing the pediatrician? I don’t know what else to do besides get a wet warm wash cloth to clean his eyes. Im a first time mom and literally everything worries me. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve cried seeing my babies eyes like that. Or even cried over thinking I don’t know what I’m doing. I just want the best for my baby. I didn’t realize things were gonna be this hard I feel so sensitive and so emotional. I never knew I could love someone as much as I love my son.
