I had 3 vaginal births, then a C-section for breech twins, then a vaginal birth. Honestly, I would do a thousand vaginal births over a C-section if there's no medical need. With the vaginal births I was able to start enjoying my babies fully as soon as they were born, I didn't have restricted movement (aside from obviously being a bit sore), I was able to pick them up feed them bathe them etc. I wasn't taking loads of painkillers after the birth or weeks later. My recovery was significantly faster with a vaginal birth, I was able to drive sooner (very important for me since I'm the only driver and we live rural). With my C-section I couldn't even sit up for the first couple of days without help. My babies had to be handed to me, if they cried I had to buzz for a nurse to come pass them to me. After the spinal wore off I was in immense pain, and being allergic to opioids limited my pain relief options significantly. For weeks after the birth my movement was limited, I couldn't enjoy the babies in the same way I did my others. I wasn't able to drive for 12 weeks! Again massive for me since I'm the only driver. My abdomen remained numb completely for 2 years after the section, and only really started to get some feeling back around 6 years after the section. My twins are now 17 years old and I still have patches of my abdomen that have reduced sensation. A million percent, if there is no medical need for a section - deliver vaginally.

Two vaginal. Super easy recovery. C sections are supposed to be a longer recovery . Props to those that needed a c section.

I don't get why people opt for c sections personally. You have a permanent scar, longer recovery and there's are more risks in general. Obviously if it's medically necessary that's different but, otherwise, vaginal birth 100% for me!

I have had 2 homebirths. Staying in the hospital and having all these extra people experience something that's so special to me seems very invasive. I've had very easy pregnancies so far with no complications and therefor do not see it as a medical emergency that requires all the poking and prodding and unnecessary medical intervention. My vaginal recoveries have been fantastic. I was walking down by the river the day after my 2nd was born. I'm experiencing complications with this baby (complete previa grade 4) and am going to give the placenta time to move up but dreading having my body cut open and all that entails, from anesthesia to recovery, it all sounds awful. I will do what's best for me and my baby but I'm more anxious than I've ever been about this delivery.

4 vaginal births and I would never want a c-section if I could avoid it. Recovering from major surgery while caring for a newborn?? No thank you! C-section moms are warriors.

I haven’t gone through labor yet but I’m hoping for a vaginal birth just because the recovery is typically easier and I’d like to avoid major surgery if I can. But! However a baby needs to come earthside is valid & difficult, so however baby needs to get here safely & healthily will be fine with me!

I’ve had a c-section & vaginal birth. C-Section recovery I was prescribed pain medication to help handle the pain and right after my SO had to return to work . So have a c-section and taking care of a newborn wasn’t there most easiest thing to do. He loved the crib next too me & it made things 1000% times better . It felt great to shower but once I could sit down and bathe I was more Happy . But Vaginal definitely was a easier recovery for me .

Vaginal. Avoid a csection if you can. Its a MAJOR surgery, way more risks, much longer recovery time, more pain, slower healing, much more long term comications and issues possible with a csection, if you can have a vaginal delivery safely than opt for a vaginal delivery. Csections should be avoided if possible
