Failed induction

Theilis

I finally have my baby in my arms but giving birth to him wasn’t easy. I got induced at 40+1 because they found out he didn’t have enough liquid. I had had some cramps and contractions for days but I was 0 dilated and around 30% effaced.

After two days trying, I only got to 3 cm dilated and my cervix wasn’t completely soft. I decided to get a C-section after being offered to break my water and get more Pitocin. I’M SO GLAD I DID. My baby swallowed a good amount of meconium and I don’t even want to know what would have had happen if I hadn’t chosen to stop the induction. I would have probably experienced so much more painful contractions to end up in the same situation but giving him more time to keep swallowing meconium.

But hey, no one ever said being a mom was easy. I’m now trying to focus on my recovery so I can enjoy my beautiful baby boy without limits.

Did any of you experienced a failed induction? What was the worst part of it?
