Mental breakdown from birth control?

Ok last night I was one my last day of training at a new job (waiting tables) and all the sudden I start crying in the back.  It was embarrassing but I couldn't control it. I was in full on panic attack mode. What made it even worse my mother is one of the top servers there and everyone thinks I'm going to be just like her. Do you think it was caused by the hormone pills or maybe I was just overreacting?

I've been on the pill for years, recently lost my health insurance, and last month was my first off the pill in ages. I had the exact same thing happen at my boyfriend's uncle's wedding a couple weeks ago. It was mortifying. 
Hormones do some weird things. Also, if you still feel moody (more than usual- I always get that way PMS time, but not the rest of the month normally), maybe try a different pill. There are so many to choose from and they all react differently with different gals.

One of the low-dose ones made me utterly insane for a couple months before I got the hell off of it. There's one out there that's just for you-- don't be afraid to try a few!

I was on birth control for 3 years and I just thought I had anxiety problems, I would have random panic attacks and crying fits and even went to therapy to deal with it. Then after I broke up with my long term boyfriend I went off the pill and was a lot happier (but could have been just from leaving him) but then after meeting my current boyfriend went back on the same pill and I was anxious again and I concluded that it was the pill, but then after trying a few different brands i am able to be on the pill without the anxiety

It could be the hormonal pills. Everyone reacts to them differently.
