TW discussions of preterm labour

This is long but I feel background is necessary

I’m 30 weeks tomorrow and have been admitted due to suspected preterm labour as I was bleeding and having regular contractions.

When I was admitted I was seen by a junior doctor who said I wasn’t contracting and my cervix was fine. However the senior doctor (the head) was pretty cross and said she was completely wrong. When she had the speculum in she said it’s fine and he said ‘that isn’t even her cervix!’ And took it off and did the examination himself.

He then said I have physiological changes in my cervix and he feels labour is going to come on and admitted me straight away. I also have thrush (he noted). And as for contractions he felt them and then made her feel my tummy to show her What they feel like.

Anyway I’ve been in a couple nights and saw a different doctor this morning and she was like it’s fine your cervix is closed and your bleeding has eased and it’s clear your contractions aren’t leading to anything so I think you can go

Home tomorrow.

She also did a speculum exam but was very rough and did it super quickly.

After the incident of the other doctor being so wrong I’m kind of scared to go home. Especially since I’m having regular contractions still.

Now please be honest am I being paranoid? Would you want a second opinion? Or would you just go home and monitor it yourself?
