If money or time were not a factor - which type of schooling would you choose for your children- and why?

Personally I plan on doing either private school or public school (I currently live in the city with the best public school district in my state (Nebraska) 
I also plan on doing a weekly crafting activity or science experiment with my children because in my own opinion I feel like schools really only teach the basics (at least up until highschool) and that it's up to the parents to teach everything else (interesting science, cool crafting, cooking, how credit works, taxes, dual languages etc.)

Oops! I accidentally hit private school but I meant to choose public. I am a public school educator and a firm believer in supporting quality public education for all. There are many wonderful private schools out there of high quality but as an educator, I want communities to support and focus on bettering the quality of education in public schools and closing the gap between socioeconomic statuses. Additionally, public school educators are highly trained and educated and must hold a teaching credential whereas a private school educator does not need a state issued credential to teach (not to say they’re not skilled at what they do). The reason why private school educations seem more successful is because it doesn’t take into account the performance of ALL that attend public schools including special education, second language speakers, etc. This is also a reason that many other countries seem more “intelligent” than Americans (not to say that American education system is without flaws). It is because many countries’ students do not have a right to free public education- they pay tuition to attend which significantly screws performance and who is able to attend and who is not within families etc. Sorry I get passionately about this and may have gotten off course but yes.. I vote public education all the way!

I'm homeschool all the way no matter how much or how little money and time I have we will homeschool. I agree school doesn't teach children enough and it's so basic for what I want for my own children. I was public schooled up until my last two years of highschool and my husband was homeschooled all through school and he knew so much more about actual life than I ever learned in school and he had so much knowledge about science and history that I was never taught by the public school curriculum. Homeschool is an awesome way to step outside of the required curriculum and teach your children so much more than they'd ever learn in school if that's what you want for your child. Required curriculum is enough to educate a child fully I just want more and the option to teach my child whatever my husband and I feel necessary outside of that.
I have absolutely nothing against parents who choose public or private school though because that's not a wrong or bad option at all its just not what I would chose.

I was homeschooled my entire school life, I loved it! My mom made sure we were around kids our age and she never forced us to homeschool. (We always had the option to be in public school) I learned how to cook and clean and soooo many other things I feel like my peers struggled with. Like laundry and taxes. It's so easy these days to homeschool, there are so many curriculums to choose from and I will definitely be homeschooling my kids.

Homeschool, hands down. I have no faith in any school system. Public school is understaffed with overwhelmed teachers who are paid the same as a night stocker at a retail store. No offense to those workers, at ALL, but a teacher should be paid exponentially more. Private school tends to be religious based which I have no interest in. Kids are bullied and ignored and pushed to only have the mindset of worker bees. My neurodivergent child doesn’t need that.

Homeschool. I live in a state that has banned a book about two male penguins who adopted a damn egg and raised it. I love teachers and think (for the majority) they are well intentioned and caring and want the best for kids. But I don’t trust the people making the laws that dictate how they teach. I also can’t justify sending my kid to school for 8+ hrs a day when most of that is just busy work. I also fully recognize my privilege in being able to work a very flexible job that makes it possible for me to be home.

I’m doing home school, but I don’t want to become Mrs.Mom. We’ll be bringing in a private teacher to do the school work. I hate the “homeschooled kids are weird and don’t know how to socialize” stereotype. That’s SO untrue.  Yes, homeschool can be done wrong, but I’ve met some of the most intelligent, high character, great social skills, and just best kids from homeschool being done right. I HATED public school. I was bullied, most teachers just gave busy work, drugs and alcohol everywhere, suicides, it sucked. Homeschooling gives me complete freedom to give my kids the best education plan, hand pick their teachers, know who they’re being influenced by, know it’s a safe environment. Also, if we want to learn about world war 2 we’ll actually travel through Europe, not read from a textbook. I got my degree in education and it made me sick to see how schools actually function and the quality of teachers being hired. I get that it’s the only option for most households. For me growing up it was my parents only option and I’m grateful that they did their best, but if there is a way to choose a different option I would definitely recommend to at least do private.

Sending your kid to public school in the US is literally sending them to the government for leftist indoctrination every day. The man who started the dept of education literally said he wanted to lessen the influence of parents and religion on young people and therefore believed they should all be in government schools all day. 
I’m not even religious, but I want to be the biggest influence in my child’s life, not some lefty teacher (who was indoctrination in state colleges and encouraged by the teachers unions as well) who is going to ask my 8 year old what their “gender” is and what their sexual orientation is and encourage them to keep secrets from their parents. It’s happening all over the place now unfortunately, even in conservative areas. If you’re against the leftist push to literally confuse your child and put them against you, absolutely do everything in your power to not send them to public school.

I choose to support public schooling and part of that includes sending my children to public schools. One of the things that gets lost in comparing numbers when considering schools is that private schools and charter schools aren't legally required to accommodate all students. So they take the "capable" students with involved parents who prioritize education and pull funding away from public schools, which only exacerbates the comparison problem. 
But the reality is, my experience with public schooling is that the majority of teachers are competent, caring, and dedicated. I feel that my children have benefited from exposure to different languages, cultures, socio-economic statuses, and divergent abilities. Part of that is that I chose to live in a diverse area where the schools don't have the best rating. But, IMO, the ratings say more about the disadvantages faced by the student body than the educational abilities of a school. And I think it is a disservice to all for the advantaged to eschew educating their children with the disadvantaged.  
As for homeschooling, well, I think there are a few that do it well. I've seen some people online do amazing homeschooling.  But everyone I know in real life that homeschools are really only doing it to either indoctrinate their children, or are semi-neglectful and don't actually do any schooling. As for me, having my kids go to public school doesn't mean I stop educating them at home.  I do wish schools were more flexible with their attendance requirements so we could do more out of school activities (like visiting to the capital or going to museums) on weekdays.
