Suspended With Pay
I was reading an article about an officer nearby being suspended for 4 years, who was paid his salary of $100,000K per year. TW: He was being investigated for threatening a minor, assault and animal abuses and basically ended up with a slap on the wrist in the end and is still an officer.
What is your opinion on suspensions with pay, most especially for public servants/those being paid by tax payer dollars?
My poll options are a bit cut off:
✅Innocent until proven guilty - people should be paid while suspended until they are proven guilty in the court of law
❌Employees should not be paid while under investigation
🟦Somewhere in the middle (ex. pay should be reduced - not fully stopped & not fully paid. It should depend on the severity of the crime they are being investigated for. Etc.)
