How common is hemorrhaging?

It’s like a big ol fear I have… is it common? Are they able to stop it for sure? Overthinking horribly over here

Not sure how common it is, but it happened to me my first pregnancy. Worst experience I thought I was going to die. I am terrified of it happening again this pregnancy. I was standing in my mother kitchen talking normal and blood was just pouring down my leg. I was going in and out conscience. By the time I got to the hospital I was passing football sized clots every 3-5 minutes.

Not sure how common it is but I hemorrhaged after my first born. I didn’t even know it was happening until they told me so. I lost 250mls more than the average woman I think is what they told me. They pushed for blood for me but I declined and asked them to let my body do it on its own as I have a weird thing with blood and organs from other people. I ended up being fine I was just weaker and tired but I felt great 2-3 days post partum and was able to go home. They checked my blood often and my body ended up correcting itself within 24 hours. I know some women aren’t that lucky.

A quick Google search told me that the mother hemorrhages in 1-5% of all births. 
I hemorrhaged when I gave birth but didn't even realize it until the nurse told me that I needed pitocin. I was so confused because I knew pitocin was used if you got induced, but I didn't realize that it could be given to you after baby was born. I asked the nurse why I needed it and was told that I bled 250ml more than normal (normal=0-500ml) and the drug helps the uterus contract, which when given after baby is born can stop any excess bleeding.
The pitocin worked and I was fine except for I was super dizzy for 2-3 days from the blood loss (and fainted every time I tried to get up and go the bathroom. I had to get a team of 2-4 nurses to escort me to the bathroom everytime I needed to go.) If you're giving birth at a larger hospital, I wouldn't worry too much because they know how to handle these situations.
