Is 7 months enough to know if person is the right for you?

So... Ive been staying with my boyfriend for 3 months now, together for 7 months and today he told me he isnt sure I am the one... My heart hurts. But he wants me to move in...

Uh girl... If the dude has told you he's not sure you're the one absolutely do NOT move in with him and go ahead and end it now. 7 months especially if you've been staying with someone is plenty of time to know if you're the one or not and even though you might have those feelings towards him if he's not feeling it towards you you can't force it and moving in with him is just going to end in disaster anyway because he's literally admitted that he doesn't feel it for you so he's probably still asking you to move in because he's just comfortable with you and that's not fair to you. You need to go ahead and break up and move on with your life and hopefully the next person you find will feel the same way about you as you do them.

Most people seem to be responding as if he said “I don’t think you’re the one” but that’s not how I interpreted what you wrote. I thought you meant he said something more like… “I can’t know for sure whether we should stay together for the rest of our lives yet, since it’s only been seven months.”
Totally different situations, requiring opposite responses from you.
If he is rude and dismissive and undermining enough to literally tell you “I don’t think we’ll last, but why don’t you move in for now anyway” then yeah, forget that guy. No need to risk getting further attached.
But if his message was more like “hey I think things are going great and I love our relationship… I’m ready for the next step, like trying out living together… I don’t know whether we’re meant to be since it’s still such a new relationship, but I’m interested to get to know each other better through cohabiting and I’m hopeful it’ll be great”  …then that would be totally reasonable.
Because honestly? You can know whether you *hope* someone is “the one” at seven months. But is it possible to know for sure that they ARE, after such a short period of time, when still in the honeymoon phase, haven’t even seen all the seasons together let alone a wide enough variety of life experiences to see how they act when everything is falling apart for you, or for them? Nah. You can be hopeful! But you have to keep gathering information… How they treat you when you’re wrong. How they treat you when they realize they were wrong. How your communication is in a joint crisis, during a major conflict, after a major conflict. What each of your priorities are for the future, how you’d handle different situations that come up. How they’d handle a conflict with your family or friends. How they’d treat you during a conflict with theirs. How they’d act in times of financial trouble, or great stress, or if something major about you or your life changed. At seven months you still barely know each other. You’ve got so many exciting, troubling, interesting, stressful, comforting, confusing things to learn about each other still, over the years. And yeah I’d definitely prefer to be with someone who doesn’t minimize the immensity of all the learning yet ahead, all the growing you’ll do together. 
If he is caring and kind, but he acknowledges that he can’t know everything about the future already after such a short time, then maybe he’s a smart guy who’s taking the relationship seriously and recognizing how important this stuff is.

I think it depends on your age. The older you are the less time it takes to be sure you want to be with someone because you have already established what you want in a life partner. When you're younger you're still trying to figure it out even when you think you know what you want.

You have been together for half a year. That’s not a lot of time at all. If you want to move in together, I don’t see the issue with that. I also don’t see the issue with him not telling you after less than a year of his life that he wants to be with you for the rest of it.

So why did he want you to move in? To pay half of his bills? Fuck that!
Do yourself a favor and get to know one another better before you move in together. And no… 4 months is not enough time to do that. There may be a rare couple that this works out for, but it’s super risky. Stop staying at his home. Keep￼ your separate places and get to know each other for a year or two before you even think about moving in together.

You do not move in with someone who says he's not sure you're the one. What's the point of the move in then? That's a serious commitment there to share your everyday space and life with someone. I would move on if that was the case. 7 months is plenty of time. At 7 months my boyfriend and I moved in. We've been together almost 6 years now. We sat down and have a very in depth serious conversation about or future and what we wanted moving forward. We were both very committed to eachother.
