Hair color advice. Do you think I should go dark?

Hi lovelies I’d really love some advice. I’ve been thinking of dying my hair for quite some time but I’ve always been to afraid to commit. I’m graduating this year so I feel like this is the best time to do it a nice time for a change (I’ve never dyed my hair and I’ve always had the same haircut) however I’m in a bit of a dilemma I’m unsure what color to do. Atm I’m thinking either a dark cool tone brown or a light blond but I’m very indecisive and can’t choose would really love some opinions and advice on what you guys think might suit me?

Think about going for a balayage instead of a whole head of colour 
Less maintenance and I think it would look stunning with blonder tones

My personal opinion...go darker and do not bleach your hair. Ever. I used to have a darker brown and would go black all the time. It didn't feel the same but it was still soft and easy to maintain. A few months ago I bleached my hair because I wanted red and black and have regretted it since. The bleach made my hair brittle and I lost a lot of hair and what remains is dry asf and damaged beyond repair. I was told the woman who did was to blame bc she did a poor job and if she had done what be she was supposed to things would have been different BUT months later with me vowing to never dye or touch my hair again and it's still not the same. At the very least if you do go full blonde make sure you choose a very high end salon and ask lots of questions about their experience.
