Do you have to register at the hospital to give birth?

My car is totally not in the clear to drive and I’m due in 19 days and I’m unable to make it to the hospital to register, the only way I could get to the hospital was in a literal emergency situation (like when I’m in labor).
So I don’t plan on registering for birth instead they can just get my information once I’m there, correct?

You don't HAVE to. It just makes things easier when you're in labour. But if you definitely can't beforehand, don't stress about it xx

Just call them and explain the situation. I'm sure they can do it over the phone or online. Plus you don't want to deal with insurance cards while you are in labor or having just given birth.

I had to since my OB delivers in a different office from their office. Even if I didn't need to I still would have. I had no desire to be in labor and have to deal with al of the questions from admissions.

(In the US) By law they have to take you whether you are registered with them or not. It just speeds things up once you’re there to be preregistered with them. You don’t want to be in active labor and trying to find your insurance card.
