Umm… Tylenol? Is it a yes or a no?

We’ve all seen the ad for Tylenol right? Saying it’s caused autism in kids after pregnant mothers use it during pregnancy… 
So I just found out I’m pregnant and there’s been a hiccup with my ins through work so I have t been able to get in with my OB. I’m just wondering what the other options are other then Tylenol because my youngest is 4 so it’s been a few years but last I was told Tylenol was the only over the counter pain meds pregnant women could take. Right? I’ve had killer headaches. What do I use??? 
Mind you my middle child (8 year old) is currently being evaluated for autism. I suffered headaches luring my pregnancy with him and took Tylenol like every day. Could be a coincidence but I do t know.

Tylenol is fine. There was one tiny study that suggested it MIGHT, if taken a maximum or higher dosages for extended periods of time, contribute to autism. But that study has not been be repeatable and there is reason to question it’s accuracy (not appropriately accounting for other variables and situations). It’s pretty much the same as all the other tiny studies that come out every couple of years claiming such and such thing (obesity, sodas, red food dyes, power lines, have all been blamed at varying times) cause autism. Tylenol has been taken by pregnant women for as long as it’s been around. If it significantly increased the chances of autism we would know. We would’ve known for a long time. Being in consistent and serious pain is bad for both of you. Take the Tylenol. Add a little caffeine if a regular dose of Tylenol isn’t enough on its own. As long as you’re not popping them like candy you’ll both be fine.

It's just the latest thing being used as a scapegoat for autism, unfortunately. None of the "studies" or lawsuits have brought up any trustworthy or verifiable information. Every year there is something "new" that's the "cause" of autism. Vaccines, food dyes, screen time, junk food, etc. The most likely factor in autism is genetics- parents of advanced age, a parent/relative with autism, etc. The "tylenol-autism link" rumor has been going on for at least 6 years. 
One of my kids is autistic and two are not. I got massive migraines with one and took a lot of tylenol, he is not autistic. When I was pregnant with my autistic child, I did not get headaches or migraines and did not take tylenol at all. Worth mentioning that I'm also autistic, just very mild on the spectrum while my kid is on the other end of the spectrum. 
I had migraines a lot at the beginning of this pregnancy. I still took tylenol. I still will if I need to. Until a trustworthy or verifiable link between autism and tylenol is formed, there's no reason to believe it, especially because the rumor has been around for more than half a decade and nothing verifiable has been established.

I take it when needed. I'm autistic, my son's autistic, and most likely my father's autistic. Autism is genetic although there is an argument for epigenetic and environment turning genes on and off. But in the end, if you're in pain, Tylenol is the safest bet in my opinion.

I'm from the UK, we are told we can only take Paracetamol is that they same thing? There is no warnings/research over here to suggest a link.... how is your BP?

It’s suppose to be safe, but they give pregnant women a lot of things that aren’t truly safe because they can really experiment on pregnant women but yes I’ve seen this a lot and many people sueing for the link it has to their baby being autistic. I personally don’t even trust the epidural a lot of the medicine they give and say is safe is questionable.

I took Tylenol occasionally during my last pregnancy but not everyday. This pregnancy will be the same but I rarely take medicine at all because I don’t need it and I’m never sick.

I have taken a Tylenol here and there but I really avoid medication in general. I used to have a chronic migrane disorder for about 10 years and I've learned some tricks...
When you have a headache, avoid oranges and bananas and nuts on those days. Buy yourself a heat/freeze pad. They have ones shaped for the forehead too. Usually its made up of some gel on the inside. Keep 1 in the freezer at all times. When you have a headache, put that frozen pad on your forehead for at least 15 mins. Ice on the forehead works wonders. Make sure it covers the entire area from temple to temple.
In the meantime, you can take a washcloth or two, soak it in water, fold it into a shape that will fit nice on your forehead, and place in thr freezer to freeze over

I don’t do Tylenol because it depletes glutathione, which is critical for detoxification of the body. 
I have used homeopathic medicine for aches and pains, and it has worked well for me!
