Baby formula

Question

So I was just wondering if any one else’s baby had really bad constipation and what formula they are using to help with it? My baby was on gentlease and is now on Gerber soothe pro and it seems to be the same as the gentle easy.. her doctor said to start her on baby food (she is 5 and half months old) and see if that helps and do 1 oz of prune juice a day and if not we will switch formula again. Just any advice would be great. No rude comments

My baby was on gentle ease too , constantly constipated even with probiotic drops. I switched to by heart and he’s had bowels movements every day since he started.

When my baby was in the NICU, she was diagnosed with CMPI (cows milk protein intolerance) so she was on hypoallergenic formula. Everything was fine, she would occasionally skip a day pooping. Fast forward to 6 months old starting solids (purées), tummy troubles being. Stops purées, only formula, improves but gets bad again. So we were having this vicious cycle of constipation, once the hard poop passes that turns into almost diarrhea, leading to gnarly rashes. So I started giving probiotics. Same outcome. The last straw was just a few days ago. I don’t remember how many days had passed since my girl pooped. I could tell she was uncomfortable. Throughout the day she would pass small penny size poop nuggets and would SCREAM about it. That same night she wakes up the whole house SCREAMING as if she were on fire. Trying to pass a poop about the size of an avocado pit. We tried all the things, it did not pass, she fell back to sleep. The poop passes through the next day in smaller, but still painfully large, dry pieces. Every poop after was looser but hr butthole was so sore and her rash was so bad, she did not want any part of a diaper change. A combination of water, prune baby food got things moving. 
I mad the decision to changer her to the reguline formula. We’re about halfway through the transition, it’s been about three days now. She seems to be doing just fine. Hasn’t screamed when she’s pooped, and the rash is improving.  Hopefully this continues to work, but so far so good!!

Prune juice before any food or bottles is the best ! If 1 oz doesn’t work for you try to go 2 oz and if to much lower to 1.5 oz until you find what works for you baby . We change everything thinking it was the milk to point we even took away the formula until doctor suggested the prune juice . It was the best solution ever !

We use Kendamil. Never had any issues with that.

Honestly both my twins were on Similac advance since birth at the hospital and they were always constipated so we switched to Gentlease and they have been doing much better. Enfamil makes a formula called reguline which has probiotics in it. We tried it but my babies didn't like the taste so that's when we went with Gentlease. Maybe you could try the reguline which has probiotics in it already? Can't recommend it since my babies weren't on it long enough but I do know they didn't like the taste but every baby is different!! Good luck!

My daughter was fine on good start plus and when I moved to good start soothe she got constipated. Have you tried probiotic drops?
