Is it normal for a newborn not to love his paci right away?

He doesn’t really care for his paci, he’s 2 weeks old.

I have to sit with the nipple in his mouth for at least a minute before he’ll open his mouth to take it & even then he’ll only suck on it for less than 10 mins. & always spits it out once he’s asleep

He is getting better with taking it but is it normal for them not to love it right away? Is there still a chance he will love it when he gets a little bigger? Life is SO much easier with a pacifier, my first baby loved his (I can’t remember if he loved it as a newborn because my memory is all foggy with him being that little)
