Can we still use the name?

We really liked the name Dexter for a boy but we’re having a girl. After looking online it says it can be used for both genders. Would you still use it for a girl? If not please comment any alternative names

I like masculine names for females, but dexter can really be ragged on at the same time…

Honestly? You could, technically speaking. People have been giving girls traditionally boyish first names left and right these days, and there's not much preventing you from doing the same thing if you so choose. If you're asking if it SOUNDS more boyish or girlish to me, definitely a boy's name in my mind. I think Dextra is an option if you wanted to feminize it, but ultimately the decision is yours(:

• Dextyn 
• Dexleigh/Dexlee
•Dextryn 
(those would be the closest “Girl” version of Dexter”
 
but there’s also
• Dailyn 
•Devyn 
•Destyn 
•Draisyn 
Those are semi-Mutual boy/girl names

I accidentally fat fingered yes and meant no. If it was a name like Loren or Lauren that are common unisex names I would say yes, but Dexter is not feminine at all. It’s your kid so you can name her what ever you want.
