21 month old sick help!

This is my first child he has never gotten sick before with a cold. He a has minor cough as of now I feel like it’s the beginning of a common cold, bc my husband and I have a cold now and it’s slightly going away. It’s not Covid we tested ourselves to make sure. But now our little guy is starting to have a cough 😷.

My question is what is best to give him being that he’s only 21 months old. I bought baby vapor rub and we will try this to help soothe his cough, any other advice on what I can do? I called his pediatrician but she’s not in office until 2 today.

I hate medicine and would love to look for natural ways to help and prevent further symptoms
