First was sideways and second was sunny side up! I had a small tear with the second but pushed for 2 hours. No reason for a c section because of a sunny side up babe! this is my third and so far he’s positioned perfectly!

Yes that’s what I was told. We do check his position every appointment but not with an ultrasound. He has been so far not sunny side up but that can definitely change during labor. My first was not transverse/sideways until mid labor and we tried to rotate her but she wouldn’t have it.
I am of course nervous about position but I also feel like I can do it if given the time to push…I’ve been reading a lot of birth stories (book is called Spiritual Midwifery) and it’s given me lots of hope and confidence!!

Did they do an ultrasound during your last trimester ? To check if baby wasn’t sunny side up ? I asked and they just kept telling me that baby can be in a good position but can rotate during labor and be sunny side up again .

My first was sunny side up and had his hand up by his ear coming out 🤣 I had to have an episiotomy. Because its more about babies position and not anything to do with mum I'm surprised they are ensuring for c section... I've not even had it mentioned to me by midwives this time round xx

I had a traumatic birth .. my baby had to be sent to the nicu because he had low oxygen from him taking forever to come out and I’m assuming them breaking my water to early it was making his heart rate go up and down also baby ended up with a broken arm but they insist in a c section to “ prevent “ that as if they are 100% it’s going to happen again but when I ask for the chances of happening they say they don’t know or can’t tell me

My first was so OP she was forehead presentation at delivery; huge internal and external second degree tears. It was a traumatic induction and I wasn't allowed to move from off my back so there was no hope of her turning. My second I went spontaneous and unmedicated and baby was in the perfect LOA position and it was even mostly pain free up until pushing. Biggest difference I made was all the prenatal prep work to get her into a good position and prep my pelvis to expand as much as possible in labor.

The exercises from One Strong Mama. I bought her program but she also puts out a ton of info for free on her Instagram @onestrongmama about prepping for birth.
Also something to consider is that going unmedicated gives your body and your baby the best chance of working together for an efficient drama free birth. Your and your baby's hormones communicate and tell baby to rotate and shift down the pelvis. Epidurals and other pain meds interrupt that delicate hormonal flow.

Sunny side up my first kiddo, not my second. Both vaginal birth. 2nd degree internal and external tear with both. Her because face up, him because he came so fast he just re-tore everything she had prior. Legit right on my scar from her.

Thank you girl I really needed this 😅 I’m scared to get a c section , it’s a major surgery and like you said it’s easier on them I felt that way when one of the OB said “ for your c section “ as in they already chose for me … and I know all labors are different and I should see all the risk and from my last outcome but they don’t even want to try to give me other options or even let me try once again to do vaginal

Yea but some doctors push c section on you simply because it's easier on their part planning and knowing what's going to happen. Make sure it's strictly your decision don't let them guilt trip you into agreeing with something your not all the way sure with... And since your here asking... Your at conflict with what to do..ofc nobody wants to endure that trauma again BUT your body now knows and is familiar with giving birth. Your body knows what to do , your second could always be completely different !! It's alot of could be's but that's the point girl ! The entire process is scary !! A c section is scarier to me 😭 then letting my body do it's thing !! Because after the c section u can't even hold the baby or get the same time u do giving birth naturally. It just changes ur whole experience a little, not that it takes away from anything ! All luck to you Mama's !!

I dont have experience with that. I was induced with her. Hypertension. I did push for an hour. But that was it. Spontaneous labor with my second (no hypertension issues with him) pushed 3 times and that was that. I had an epidural with her, because pitocin. Zero pain meds with him. I didn't have time for anything.
I'd say your OB has a good point, as far as birth trauma to baby goes, but also can't guarantee it will or won't happen with this kiddo. You can always seek a second opinion and/or do research of your own. If anything you can always try vaginal and if things are not going well they can do an emergency c section? It's hard to know whats the *right* for you choice to make sometimes.
