7 month old yelling all the time

is this normal? he’s not crying he’s just starting to find his voice i think so he’s always hollering and yelling. i think it’s cute personally but his dad gets embarrassed in public and tells me to make him stop crying.. i’m trying to explain he’s not crying just learning that he can make noise and get a response and it’s a crucial part of development but he’s never been around kids other than ours so he doesn’t understand.
