Depo shot

I didn’t get my last depo shot which would have been in September. I had sex oct 15th a few times that day and today I woke up I wiped and had a small bit of blood when I wiped it had been like that all day. I took a test today and it was negative. Could it be the start of my period? I haven’t had my period since April when I got on the depo shot.
