Who will deliver the baby here?

Question

Am visiting a obgyn office for regular visits and they deliver the babies in a linked hospital. The obgyn office encouraged me to meet different doctors each visit so am familiar with all doctors in facility before I deliver. I doubt if those doctors will actually be available at my labor. I mean on duty doctors or midwives deliver the baby or they actually inform the doctors linked to the clinic? Am confused. First time having a baby here. Pls help.

You need to ask your doctors office because it may be different depending on your practice. It sounds like whoever the on call doctor in your OB practice during your labor will be the one to deliver, but make sure you clarify. If you start to deliver before your DR can get there then the hospital will obviously have a doctor there. Nurses will be from the hospital, not your practice

My OB has 3 different doctors in one office and one hospital they deliver at. I see the same OB throughout my pregnancy but each doctor has their on call days. I would get whoever is on call at the time I’m in labor. With my first, the one I saw regularly delivered my daughter but the next day I saw her partner for release. This pregnancy I’m seeing the same OB but know I could get any of the three when it comes time for delivery. Hope that makes sense.

Thank you all for responding. I have one general follow up question. Unless we have any complications I don't think the doctors will remember any details of us from regular visits. It's more like anyone can deliver and doesn't make any difference. I see different doctor so I don't have a personal choice as well. Am I right?

The way my OB does it is that one of the doctors from the office is always on call at the hospital for deliveries so basically if you go into labor in the middle of the night or on a weekend one of the doctors from the clinic will be there.

Depends on the practice. Sounds like your office when you go into labor a on from your actual office delivers just maybe not one you've met. Some offices do travel to birth patients babies and you use the hospital obgyn and some offices like mine my ob I see every appt is thr one who delivers my baby. Every doctor at my ib delivers their own patients babies unless they are out of town or in a surgery or something. Just ask for clarification because it can vary by office

Both. 
My first pregnancy they called my OB. He couldn’t make it in time as he had to get his kids so his wife could get to work. Another doctor from his clinic was on call that night and did my delivery. Funny enough my OBs wife worked in the nicu that night so she helped care for my daughter! 
Second baby I didn’t have established care in my new city when he decided to come. I did have a high risk doctor and care but he doesn’t do deliveries. I saw many different OBs that were on call. One of them was present at the delivery. While they were caring for my delivery they were called for another delivery. My situation was more severe so I was prioritized and a different doctor was sent to the other mama.

The ones that just work at the hospital are called hospitalists. I will be delivering with whichever hospitalist is available because I transferred care late. It really depends on your situation and the hospital policy.

My obgyn doctors only deliver at one hospital that's linked to my office I go to I got to a different hospital that's connected to my obgyn but none deliver at but it's better than the one they do deliver at so I'm okay with a on doctor at that hospital to deliver my baby I went to that hospital that they don't deliver at with all my pregnancies

￼ My OB/GYN has two offices one is for when you’re not pregnant and the other is right in the hospital for when you are pregnant so that you can eat all the doctors/midwives. the woman I really loved as a midwife is who ended up ￼￼delivering my daughter.  I assume if the hospital works with multiple practices they’d have one on from each office.
