My fiancé wants to name our daughter Josephine Marlene Campbell.

Josephine is after his dad Joseph which I was fine with using as a *middle name*, it was actually my suggestion.

Marlene is after his aunt that was murdered last year by her partner.

I had a dream months ago, before I was well associated with the name “Marlene”, that we had a daughter and her name was Marley. I woke up so confused because the name felt very random, we had never discussed it prior to my dream. After I told him about it, he made the connection to his aunts name but said Marley was ugly. He now wants to use Marlene as a middle name. I don’t like it.

It’s like everything in this name is about HIS family. His father, his aunt, his last name.. it’s my child too. But I feel bad turning it down since there’s sentimental value in it for him.
