Chemical pregnancy? Could my doctor be wrong?
Update: this ended up being ectopic. I had my tube removed and am on the way to recovery!
I had some faint positives last week and had some spotting, all brown and it was never super heavy. I went to my fertility doc. hcg was 9 and progesterone was very low— 0.6. I was told I was having a chemical pregnancy which wasn’t surprising to me. I stopped spotting over the weekend and got bloodwork done yesterday. Hcg was 36 and progesterone was 0.7. My doctor said she thinks this is still an abnormal pregnancy and they want to make sure my body takes care of things properly and that my levels get back to normal, so I came in for a scan and more bloodwork today. They didn’t see a sac in my uterus but also didn’t see anything abnormal/nothing to indicate an ectopic pregnancy. Technically my diagnosis at the moment is a pregnancy of unknown location. They want to see me Thursday for another scan and more bloodwork. They said it’s either an early miscarriage or potentially ectopic pregnancy, they want to keep an eye on it.
I think she’s right and I’m probably having a chemical pregnancy, but is there anyway I could’ve ovulated later and this could end up being a viable pregnancy? I was on letrozole and a trigger shot, but they didn’t confirm when I ovulated. I know my progesterone is super super low, I just can’t help thinking there’s a tiny chance i could be actually pregnant? I know it is a very slim chance since my progesterone is so very low. Should I push for them to check, just to ease my anxiety?
