How do you do cloth diapers?

My SIL is planning to do cloth diapers and she’s saying that she’s going to buy a kiddie pool and a hose and wash the diapers in that because 1. They don’t have a washer or dryer and 2. They can’t afford diapers.

I’m just wanting to do research for her to try and help the best I can. I have a daughter and another baby on the way but have never done cloth diapers. Her sister and I are scared for this! Lol.
