Is Ivy really that popular?

I see the name a lot on this app, but I have never met one in person, and I am a teacher. I am also African American and live mostly around black people, so maybe it’s not a common name about black people… I’m asking because I like the name, but I don’t want to name my child something that’s super popular.

I’ve also never met a black girl named Ivy. It is not a popular name in the community. That’s why I tend to like more “white” names because most black people don’t use them so to me it’s unique. 
I’ve met a lot of black kids with “white” names like:

I personally don’t see the issue people have with a name being popular. If you like it, then use it. I personally don’t know anyone named Ivy. At the same time, my best friend growing up was named Samantha and we loved it. It was like our own secret club.

I LOVE the name Ivy! We named our second daughter Ivy, and she’s the only Ivy I know. She literally gets compliments everywhere on her name. Ivy Belle 🥰

I love the name Ivy! I actually almosr changed my name to Ivy when I was younger. One of my great grandparents was named Ivy. I went to school with a girl named Ivy, she was black, and I know a 13 year old who is named Ivy and she's white.  I think it's a lovely name! It'll age well and is a slightly forgotten classic.
