How painful is getting your membranes stripped??

On a scale of 1-10 (1 being a shot, 10 being full on labor lol)

I've had 2 and both were a bit uncomfortable but wouldn't say painful. Definitely less painful than a smear test. I'll do it again this pregnancy if I get to 41 weeks as allowed me to avoid inductions so far which I've heard are very painful.

Depends on the doctor! I had one that wasn’t bad at all, like a period cramp. And then another doctor was super rough.

For me it was like a 2-3. Both times(different pregnancies) extremely uncomfortable to the point of almost pain I would say and then I cramped lots after

For me it was an 11. I wasn’t checked until I was in the hospital, but I was 0, 0. My cervix was behind my baby’s head and it was horrible. They gave me a shot in my iv that only numbed my vagina and I was able to have it done and have a foley placed. I won’t be doing it again, I’ll need a cesarean.

Honestly for me it is extremely painful. I could never let them get their finger in properly. No matter how much I tried to close my eyes and relax and just breath.
