Makena injections??

Question

My high risk doctor gave me a choice to start progesterone injections if I wanted to at 16 weeks I have a little bit of time to decide and honestly I’m leaning towards no Since the doctor even said that there were recent studies show that it might not actually be helpful.  
But I was just wondering if anybody would be willing to share their experience doing the Makena injections? I am curious while I take time to decide my plan

I had makena shots with two successful pregnancies. I had 4 miscarriages without progesterone, one of them at 20 weeks. 
In my successful pregnancies despite taking progesterone vaginally and then shots, I still had issues with preterm labor threats, either I was contracting or my cervix shortened and funneled a lot around 27-31 weeks. Bed rest with second pregnancy too. 
So in my situation progesterone was necessary from ovulation since I had both early miscarriages and late one related to short cervix.

My doctor also tried to get me to start these. I declined. The FDA is currently trying to get them removed from the market & last month their advisory board voted 14-1 to remove them. There are no clinical studies to prove they work, they’re painful, & they’re expensive. When I explained this to my doctor she told me there’s no proof they don’t work or cause any side effects 😒

I was also offered this. I said yes at first then declined after I thought about it. I hate needles.. I get super anxious and sick from them. I’m now 25 weeks and had no issues with my cervix shortening or anything. I’m glad I said no. However, I have biweekly cervical scans..
