Is 10 months too old to get ears pierced?

Question

When my daughter was younger I was planning on waiting until she was old enough to make the decision herself. But now I’m kinda leaning more towards getting it done now, but now I’m worried that I waited too long and she’ll mess with them and pull them out. I know most people are either on team “get it done at 3-6 months” or team “do it when she’s older” but now I don’t know what to do 😔 did I miss my window where she won’t tug on them?

Too old? You mean too young? There is literally no reason to accessorize your infant. Wait until your child is grown enough to be able to #1 ask for a body modification, understand that it hurts and can consent to go to a licensed piercing artist who will use proper piercing equipment in a licensed tattoo shop.

Wait until she's old enough that a tattoo/piercing place will do it. Absolutely no Clair's or kiosks at the mall. Never a piercing gun. I'm team wait until they make the choice themselves though. But if you're gonna do it, do it right. No piercing gun.

Her body her choice. Wait until she’s older. I got my ears pierced when I was a baby and as I grew the holes weren’t centered anymore and now I never wear earrings because it looks weird.

I would say you probably missed the window and should wait til she can be safe and not touch them. I did both my girls before a month old. It’s customary in my culture to get it done around 9 days old (the first day mom should be out of the house PP). I was late with both and did it around 15 days and 21 days for each girl. They were only aware of them at the time of piercing (only at a tattoo shop with clean sterile needles!!!!) and they never ever touched them. If I were you, I would now just wait until they are old enough to understand no touching them while healing.

10 months old is still like a baby, so you’ll constantly be around her. you’ll be able to stop her from pulling on her ears. i think it’ll still workout at her age

Just wait. I got mine pierced younger than 10 months and I still tugged and pulled on them. I wish I had been able to choose when to get them pierced, I never wear earrings and my holes will NEVER close up. When they're pierced that young, it's not as reversible.
