First OB visit… what to expect?!

Hi all! I have my 7week scan and first OB visit on Thursday 12/8. This will be my first and I’m curious from those who have made a person before how was your first OV visit!? Eager to learn what I can expect ….

Possible need full bladder to be able to see baby on ultrasound depend on what dr need to do belly ultrasound or vaginal ultrasound

Usually a transvaginal ultrasound, tons of questions, possibly a pap if you're due and blood work.

Mine are usually just US to confirm baby is in there and just questions and answers. I get a picture of the baby too! Then we schedule my next visits and that’s really it. Bloodwork doesn’t usually happen until farther along and I didn’t need a PAP so I didn’t do that either.

Pap smear if you need one, urine sample, bloodwork for STD’s and CBC, blood pressure, and weight.

My doctor normally doesn’t do bloodwork and what not until 10 weeks so you might not have blood work this time. Normally, first appointment is just to confirm the pregnancy and make sure everything’s looking on track as far as dates, If baby has a heartbeat, which will be likely at this point, you’ll probably get to listen to it And get some ultrasounds printed out. ￼
