Infection After Infection!
I am 19 years old, and I have had two cases of bacterial vaginosis in the last year. I usually struggle with recurring UTI’s, but BV is a new concept to me. I have fairly good feminine hygiene, but this is sometimes affected by my poor mental health. Some things that may be causing my BV are a disagreement between my boyfriend’s PH and my PH, and my IUD that I’ve had since February. I heard that having an IUD can cause you to be more susceptible to bacteria, but I have always had a sensitive vagina. I tried clindamycin cream the first time, and it worked. However, the second and most recent time that I used this medication, I only experienced relief for a few days. I have since experienced a thick, white, and clumpy discharge, itchiness, and bleeding on my labia from scratching so much. I need tips on how to maintain good feminine hygiene as a person with a sensitive vagina, as well as how to fix this issue of recurring vaginal infections- possibly for good!
