Would you recommend the owlet sleep sock?

With the increase of RSV I am considering getting the owlet sleep sock for my baby that’s due Feb 2. 
My 2.5 year old has RSV now and it is SCARY. I can’t imagine a newborn having this. 
Iv read about the sleep sock and of course read both good and bad things. 
Has anyone ever used it? Did you like it or was it a waste?

If it gives you more peace of mind then go for it. Don’t base your decision off random strangers on the internet. Talk to your OB and ask his/her opinion and you do you.

My friend got the owlet when her 4week old caught RSV. It was literally a life saver. Her daughters O2 level dropped to 80% (it should never be below 93%). So it went off at night, they woke up and immediately took her to the ER.  
My daughter ended up catching RSV at 2 weeks old. I borrowed her owlet and thankfully my daughters O2 levels never dropped below 93%. It was such a big piece of mind. I was able to sleep better at night knowing she had it on and it would set off an alarm if her levels dropped.

My sons in the nicu currently for being born at 27w. Not a single person on his massive care team recommends the owlet for their patients when they go home. 
For rsv, an infant will have labored breathing before their o2 levels drop drastically enough for the owlet to go off. So learn what labored breathing looks like and monitor for that.
I believe all major health organizations also recommend against it.

I got it for my 1st but didn’t use it much because it stressed me out. I haven’t used it much with my second because I don’t find it useful. Probably if my lo got sick I would use it.

At that age I don’t think the sock will even fit. It’s made for infants or at lest the one we had for my son as a newborn was. It gave my son a burn on his heel so I was a fan of it until then

I have the one that’s for newborn- 5 years old. My daughter have a heart defect so it’s nice it gives me a peace of mind. I sleep better when she wears it at night. Ironically they say the reading is usually inaccurate. But following direction on how to use it appropriately her readings are usually right. Plus I’ve noticed that when she starts to get sick, her resting heart rate becomes evaluated. When her resting heart rate is evaluated I knew she was getting sick even if she appeared to be fine at those time. With COVID, flu, and RSV going around, it calms my anxiety. I’m going to get another one for our baby that’s due in a few months.

No. If you’re baby needs to be monitored for breathing they should be in the hospital. Big waste of money in my opinion!

No. The setting on it doesn’t alarm you until it is dangerously low! I don’t recall the actual number, but if you read into it, the sensor is set super low. Way below.
