Cosmetology questions (doctors and cosmologists opinions)

So I really want to be a cosmetologist and do hair and makeup but I have carpal tunnel or arthritis in my wrist. (my doctors didn’t wanna check for some reason and just gave me that.) It’s really bad right now that I can’t move my wrist as much but if I can get surgery for it I will. My mom said I can’t be a cosmetologist anymore because of my wrist, even after getting surgery (she said this after talking to the girl that does her hair).

So can I be a cosmologist if I get the surgery or is it just not possible anymore?

Don’t some salons have different people for doing dye and doing styleing?

I would be ok just doing the hair dyeing and makeup.
