Period postpartum?

Hi guys I’m 5 weeks postpartum and I think I’m having my period although it’s very light so far. Yesterday I was cramping and having some side pain the I noticed some spotting. My postpartum bleeding stopped around 3 weeks and 3 days. Could this be my period or am I just starting to bleed again? Please let me know what your periods were like after postpartum and if they were heavy or light flow. Thank you!

It’s hard to say. Are you breastfeeding? Breastfeeding can delay your period for quite some time. With my first I started my period around 6 weeks pp and then with my second I thought I started around 7 weeks and when I had my postpartum check she said it could be the final part of my uterus healing and she was right. I didn’t bleed again for 8 months. Breastfed both but got lucky the second time around to be period free so long.
