When to let people visit baby

Hi everyone, quick question. 
Baby will be born this coming week and we plan to wait a week or two until our immediate family meets him. Past that, I’m not sure when to take him out or let others visit. I know a lot of people wait for the two month shots, but that seems so far away (late February) but with all the colds, flus and Covid going around I don’t want to risk anything. 
What did you guys do when it came to visiting ?

Look up The Fourth Trimester. I wait until the end of the fourth trimester to see people and venture out of the house. It’s not just for baby’s sake but you need to take care of yourself. Hormones are high, emotions are high, and birth is a big deal. You’ll be tired and needing rest. Think about yourself besides baby.

Not having anyone around baby besides my parents for at least three months. RSV and the Flu are at an all time high right now. Not worth the risk. We have FaceTime and social media and that’s where they will see baby. Anyone who has an issue with that I really don’t care. The health of my baby is more important to me then opinions.

My baby is also due any day now. 
We're going to let family and close friends meet baby only if 1) they are not sick, and 2) they wash their hands before holding baby. And when she's out in public, we're going to try to cover her with a blanket or social distance from others to be safe. But in general, baby isn't going to stop us from going to social events or seeing people

We have allowed close family and friends to visit, or will go to their houses. If anyone wants to hold the baby or be close, I have them wash hands and wear a mask just in case (no one argues this if they want to hold the baby bad enough). Obviously if anyone is sick we do not visit. Baby only goes out other places if necessary. We have 2 other kids (3 and 5 yo), so lots of other places to go and germ exposure to worry about. But ultimately, you have to do what you’re comfortable with. We don’t really have the option to stay home for 2 months, so we are doing as much as possible to keep baby healthy.

I’d say do what your comfortable with. There are A LOT of viruses/bugs going on right now though so, for me, I’d be super apprehensive. I’d really have to trust that they weren’t sick or were possibly on the verge! I get wanting to let people visit and meet baby though- I probably couldn’t deny the grandparents.

I let grandparents come see baby for a short amount of time after birth. I didn't allow visitors often at home for quite a while. I kept my baby home for months because I felt best that eay. Even the pediatrician recommended not bringing newborn out unless absolutely necessary. I didn't bring my baby to a store or someone else's house until she was over 6 months old. You can do whatever you feel comfortable with, with your own baby though.

Do it when you're comfortable with it.
I know my own family and my in laws and my friends. I would let any of them visit fairly quickly as long as they're not sick. But most of them also refer to not hold the baby, so that's really in my advantage 😂
You and your partner should agree or find a good compromise if you're not on the same page. Do it when you're ready!
